Alice spring social unrest and the lessons we could get from it

April 3, 2024

In the name of God

The unrest and crimes need holistic remedies and long-term solutions combined with short term actions. I am proud as an Australian about the foundation of our democracy and its protectors which is free and responsible journalism. Today I’ve listened to the news and one of them drew my attention which I shared with you. The news was about social crimes and level of insecurity in Alice spring.

I would like to draw your attention to these important factors that got my eyes:

  1. Here in Australia there are places where so under resources and oppressed that social unrest happening to what extent that there has been curfew for two weeks.
  2. The approach that Australian Government took to tackle this social unrest.
  3. The approach that law enforcement system has towards this unrest.
  4. The role of journalists in the formation of a solution to this crisis.

I am proud to be Australian because

  • The inequality and social injustice which is the roots of this social unrest are controversial and a kind of Self criticism that nobody like it.
  • The Australian Government paid attention to this old problem Many years before this unrest by planing and promoting solutions for the closing gaps between disadvantage and main stream. It showed a deep understanding of the real social matters and pragmatic approach toward them. No system is perfect but thriving and functional systems are ere real and not a wish.
  • The approach of law enforcement is more interesting which believes this curfew is unconstitutional and is like a pain relief. They believe we need long term policies and tackling the roots of the problem which are under inequality in the community.
  • The role of Journalists as agents of protection of democracy and justice to create an informative discourse to tackle threats and promote opportunities for a democratic country.

May God bless humanity with love, peace and harmony.
